My current work is called Hands On Redwood City.
With this series I hope to highlight people in Redwood City who work with their hands.
Many times these people are unseen by the general public.
Sometimes they are seen but hardly noticed.
The idea is to bring them to our attention.

Herb builds custom BBQs and Smokers at his shop in Redwood City.  Herb has been a welder and carpenter all of his working life.  These cookers are something to see.

Fabian has worked for Gonzalez Construction for ten years.  His boss says that he has become a skilled carpenter.  I saw it too.  During our two hour photo shoot I saw accurate measurements and tight tolerances.  Nothing less.

Alberto and Orlando have been making biscotti for over a decade at La Biscotteria in Redwood City.  Two brothers from South America making fine Italian desserts.  Go figure.

Andres Gomez

Andres is the receiving clerk at Sigona's Farmer's Market in Redwood City.  He is responsible for the mountains of fresh produce that comes into this store.  Speedy and efficient he begins work at 4 AM so that we can have wonderful fruits and vegetables ready when we stop by.

Esperanza Lark

Esperanza is a presser at PressRite Cleaners in Redwood City.  She is known for her steady hand at the press and for quality work.  I can testify to the quality myself.  She is the presser at my cleaners.

Miguel Zamora is a granite polisher at Accent Counters in Redwood City.  According to the boss "There are no better polishers".

Miguel Reyes is the cook at The Talk of Broadway cafe in Redwood City. The owner, John, says he is fast, very fast.
